Strapless Bra/Corset Advice

Strapless Bra/Corset Advice

I have a mermaid wedding down with a sweatheart neck., so the dress is very fitted from the chest to below the hips.

I haven't decided if I am going to wear a strapless bra or a corset yet and I need some advice.

Which is better for support? I'm assuming the obviously answer is a corset, but I actually feel like a strapless bra gives me more coverage and support. The corset gives me more of a 'boost' (I have a large chest - 36D) than anything, but it doesn't cover my boobs 100%, if you have you know what I mean.

Either way, I am going to have the seamstress put snaps on the bra or corset and dress so everything stays in place.

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

I am also a 36D (sometimes a 36C) and find that most strapless bras don't offer much support. But certain corsets can look 'stiff' underneath a dress, as well as create that little pouch of flesh that comes out underneath (I've seen this happen even on some of the skinniest girls. If you DO go with a corset, I would choose one that is smooth (no visible boning) and comes down to the hips.

I can't wear any bra with my gown so I am hoping the seamstress can put in some extra support in the bust....

is the back of your gown buttons or zipper?

I also wore a mermaid gown, and have 36d, but my dress had a corset back, and i didnt wear a bra at all - had no problems.

also, is your dress satin?

I feel like with satin, its not very forgiving and you can see alot of undergarments under neath, if its not completely smooth.

id suggest going to one of those bra stores like Blums in patchogue, and let one of the pro's help you.

i was planning on wearing a corset but realized today at my fitting that the less i have under that dress the better. my dress is silk and shows every line and wrinkle and even the boning thats inside the dress shows through. the corset just added unnecessary bulk so i'm just having cups put in.

I had a corset already i my dress and the boning always caused problems. So the seamstress cut it in half, we only hooked the top three, and I wore a normal strapless bra. I'm a very full C and it worked out perfectly.
