Strapless dress fitting question- repost from BHB

So I just came back from my last fitting of my strapless dress, and I thought the top seemed a tiny bit loose. My seamstress said that because of my build (ie not a large bust), that this was common and that if she takes it in any more, the skin by my under arms will be folding over the dress.

She recommends double sided tape to basically tape the dress to my skin so it is flush, which I tried and was fine. The dress won't fall down because there is an elastic band around my waist (James Clifford - brilliant!), but I am curious if this is common or if I should have her take it in slightly? Any thoughts? TIA.....

If it works I would keep it as is.

I tend to have the same issue as you. That double sided garmet tape works wonders!

I was left with a 'tiny gap' on top which really annoyed me and I asked why is it so loose on the top and I was told the same thing but I am not big chested just have a wide back. I didn't use double stick tape because she didn't tell me - wish she did because it did kinda bother me.

I have to say it won't fall off you but it might shift, I had adjust myself every so often after dancing because the dress starts to give as time goes on. BUT i have to say i rather of dealt with that then having hanging flesh on the back IoI

I haven't had to use it yet on my dress, but I probably will b/c I don't fill out the top. I have used it on other dresses I've worn, and it always keeps them on, even when I get sweaty.

i had the same problem and the woman told me she couldnt take it in anymore cuz it would make me look 'squished in and flat'
so not attractive words when talking about your bust....so i went with her opinion
