Today I went to Blums to look for strapless bras and the ladie suggested having cups sewn in the dress then a pad in the cup to give me a lift plus a bra. It just seems like a lot. I want a little bit of a lift and she said that the dress will bring you all down and you need supposrt. What is everybody else with stapless dresses doing?
I am having cups sewn in. I do not want a bra on my wedding day, I HATE strapless bras as it is.
I was told to pick a bra - a corset bra, and they were going to see what they thought i needed when we did the fitting. they mentioned they might 'sew the bra in' for support.
my seamstress ordered a corset/boustier and then basted it into my gown. i needed it to cover my belly a little, since the material there was all plain satin. it worked out perfectly.
I am getting a corsett type bra but you should definatly get one to try on with the dress. I got one and when I went for my fitting yesterday the bra pushed me up way to far. I looked ridiculous. I was glad that I found that out now instead of the day of my wedding.
I'm wearing a boustier. I need all the sucking in I can get. But I want to make sure I don't look like Dolly Parton so I'm going to have to shop around.
I found 2 great places when i was looking for a corset for my dress. One is Curves, in Rockville Centre right off Sunrise Hwy. The other is Slyvia's Corsetry, on Long Beach Rd in Oceanside. They both have a huge selections and not very expensive. Curves has lots of other stuff too, like lingerie, gifts for bridal party, etc... They one I bought was very comfortable...
