Hey Girls! I will be looking for dresses soon and definitely would like a strapless dress but I was wondering do you girls worry that you will have to keep pulling the dress up and fixing it throughout the night?

That's the same worry I have! I was thinking I'd stay away from strapless altogether, but I think it's important to try on a bunch of styles. As long as it's tailored perfectly and fitted at the top, I don't think you'd have an issue with pulling it up all night. Good luck!!

Re: Strapless wedding dress
have the seamstress sew little bone tabs in to the top of the dress (the inside). The tabs tuck into your bra to prevent the dress from slipping

Where ever you go ...no matter what the seamstress should know what she is doing so what will not happened at all...

Re: Strapless wedding dress
I think I'm the only girl here who actually had this problem, but my seamstress was not good... That's a whole 'nother story! I never heard any newlywed girl complain.

Re: Strapless wedding dress
I was also worried about this problem. But the seamstress will take of it. I got a really good corset type bra and the dress is tightly fitted and sort of attached to the bra in some weird way...but it stays up!!

Re: Strapless wedding dress
I have DDs and i was worried about this too!! My seamstress said to make sure to pull the dress all the way up before closing up the corset so the dress sits correctly. I haven't had any problems during the fittings so hopefully it will be ok!!

Re: Strapless wedding dress
My dress has a corset back but also has something like an elastic belt on the inside of the dress.
It starts at the front of the dress and wraps around to the back. (It is the same kind of eye and hook like a bra) It's a large strap, about 2' long and will go around my ribs.
I was told that the dress was made that way so it won't move too far down. ( If the dress moves down, it won't fall off, it will stop at my hips)
HTH!

Nopeee--the gown store will fit it to you perfectly so that you don't have to worry about it.

Re: Strapless wedding dress
I have a very large chest and wanted to completely avoid strapless dresses at all costs for fear of this happening to me. I do not want to be pulling my dress up all night. However, I ended up getting a strapless dress and I didn't feel as comfortable in any of the other dresses I tried on. The way my dress fits is perfect and I have no concerns that it will stay up. It's very light and sits nicely on my hips. Once I have my fittings, I'm confident it will be nice and tight. IMO, don't avoid strapless just because you're worried about this.

Re: Strapless wedding dress
ok this may be a stupid question but if the dress has the tieback is this considered corset? if so, do I have to get a separate bra or corset undergarment? so confused!!
