It seems like every dress I see in magazines that I like are strapless and I really wanted one with a small thin sheer sleeve or a thin strap does anyone know if it's possible to add straps onto a strapless gown??

Straps, cap sleeves and thin sleeves are all options to add. Don't worry about it.

my dress actually came with the straps if i wanted to add them!!
alot of girls had sleeves or straps added!! and they come out sooo great!!

i have seen dresses like what you are looking for.(with the sheer)..Jasmine has some (Jasmine also allows you to make changes to the dresses when you order...so you may want to look into them) I think Maggie Sottero also has some with that look..try checking out their websites! (pics are Jasmine dresses)
I got a strapless gown and added a cute shrug. It depends on the designer, but a lot of them have different strap options. Don't rule out strapless dresses completely just because they're strapless, I almost did that..and had like 2 choices of dresses in the store.

I added sheer beaded sleeves to my Maggie Sottero Michelle dress. They look fabulous ! It is the same sleeve that is on the Rosemary Leigh.

I didn't want strapless at all, but when I tried on dresses with thicker straps (like a tank top) I hated the way it looked. I actually liked the strapless dresses on me and since I was trying on ones with corset backs, they REALLY hold you in!
But you can probably add spaghetti straps or somekind of strap/sleeve to just about any dress. My friend added spaghetti straps to her dress just a few weeks ago! Good luck!

This dress was strapless and I added this halter strap--I have no pics w/o a strap since even the first time I put it on we pinned on a strap!

Yes, often dresses come with straps that can be added, also I've heard of seemstresses making them. My dress came with the sleeve option but I actually liked it better without.

absolutely! i know aerojen's dress was originally strapless....she wanted straps, and had them added on (and she said some people said she was crazy!)....but honestly, i think her cap sleeves were the most gorgous part of her dress! here's a link to her review...from what ur describing it sounds almost like exactly what she did..
