So, I recently went dress shopping with my bridesmaids and they asked if I want long/short BM dresses --I figured long would be more formal and then they asked straps or strapless and I just gave a weird look. I guess I never thought about it before. Have any of you? The two girls were both married and said they didn't want their bridesmaids to be strapless since they had a strapless dress and wanted to stand out. Have you thought about this? Do you agree? Should I have them get straps since I have a strapless dress. I am worried now that I have to match my dress with the bridesmaids dresses. If I have a fit and flare should they? I didn't think BM dress shopping would be so stressful ! :)

Re: Straps or Strapless BM dress..does it matter?
IMO whether the dress has straps or not doesn't make a difference. I don't think adding straps to a BM dress would make the bride 'stand out'- the bride will stand out bc she is wearing a white gown!

I think it's just preference...I've seen where the BM's had all different types on one specific dress (one strap, strapless, straps).
See what you and your BM's are most comfortable with!

It's all about preference. Some girls need the straps because of their size. My BM dress has detachable straps.

I dont think it makes a difference. Girls come in all different shapes and sizes so one person may look good in strapless while the other will need straps. That minor detail will def not draw any attention from you. It's your day & you are the one wearing a white /ivory wedding dress. HTH
