Street Signs - Help

Street Signs - Help

We are doing a winter in NY theme for our wedding. I want to name the table after famous street names in NYC, however I am having such a hard time finding a cardboard street sign for reference, or the trace on poster board. I am looking to get blue poster board, outline the sign, then do the letters in white (not 100% sure on how yet), anyway, I need 1 sign to follow. You ladies always have great and creative ideas, so I figured I would turn here for help. Any suggestions would be great, as I am so frustrated with this at this oint, but not willing to give up... lol

If I remember right, I think a lot of those small shops in and around Times Square usually sell street signs to all the tourists.

Dora is right.

PS: Street signs are green, not blue.

Thanks for the help. I know Ihave seen them, but could not remember where. Sonicstef, .. lol.. I know they are green, but I was hoping to use blue, like the old time signs look, and since it is winter in NY, and my bm's are wearing blue, figured I could get away with it. Sometimes we brides have to take some liberties

Street Signs! I just thought of the same thing this weekend. Darn it, and I thought it was totally original Oh well, at least I have someone to commiserate with. My FH and I went to the same college and have lived in various places in MD for several years, so I think our guests will get a kick out of sitting at 'streets' where they have visited us, rather than numbered tables.

I was thinking about white street signs with black border and lettering a la New Orleans, just because I don't want green signs. Can you keep me posted on your progress? I have been brainstorming, but so far have only come up with asking a friend/graphic designer if she can help. My creativity ended with the idea

ss2002 - Thanks for the web site, there are some cool signs on there, but they are a little pricey.

Becky - I found another site that has signs for 10.00 each, which is not so bad. The site is www.cute-signs.com. I figure even if we have to pay for 12-15, at this point what is 150.00 to keep my sanity. But, if you figure out any creative ways to do it that may be a tad cheaper, let me know. My e-mail is [email protected] if you want to chat any more about this idea
