since the very beginning of our wedding planning we've wanted to do a buffet for our food instead of sit down. mainly b/c its a day wedding and i've heard the portions at timber point are small. but as i'm going through all the selections for the buffet which sound wonderful, i'm afraid that i don't get enough options. i've been to CH's with more food.
should i change to sit down??? i dont wanna be known as the girl who had no food at her wedding

If you are worried about not enough options, I would go the traditional sit down route. If there is a cocktail hour as well, I don't think anyone will care about small portions. I always love the cocktail hour best!

the cocktail isn't huge either with the sit down. basically the cocktail hour food is what the buffet would be but we get a few more selections
so the only thing we'd get for the ch if we do the buffet is passed hors d'oeuveres 8 different ones no chafing dish foods. is that lame??

Did you go for a tasting? I went for a tasting there a few weeks ago and the dishes were pretty big. I'm having a sit down though.

I think I'd do the cocktail hour and sit down. If you are going to get everything you'd get with the buffet, plus more for cocktail hour if you do a sit-down dinner, it sounds like you are getting more for your money that way.

no we haven't gone for a tasting. i guess we probably should, i just know from friends that the food is really good, so i wasn't to concerned

Is it a problem to change it? For what its worth, I've been to weddings that didnt have a whole lot of food, and people talked about it. But I always thought that there was more food at a buffet? Or maybe it just seems that way?

i just emailed the girl i've been dealing with asking about changing to sit down, which i don't think will be problem. i also asked what would it cost to add more chafing dishes to the buffet. i don't think having the passed hors d'oeuveres is that bad for a day wedding in the summer, no one really likes to eat to to heavy. plus we're doing the raw bar & other seafood.
ugh - ya know i'm just so done with all this wedding stuff

i'd say do the bigger ch and the sit down. Ppl look forward to the ch and are usually stuffed by the time the dinner comes later. If they are stll hungy they can ask for 2nds.

i have no clue. i've decided that i'm really bad at this wedding stuff and i need help, but no one has time to help me and fh is USELESS! if i hear 'sure, sounds good' one more time i swear i'm gonna hit him with a pan. all of his 'sure, sounds good' responses got us $10k over budget!

If you are doing the raw bar and seafood, I don't think you need extra chafing dishes! I looove the raw bar, especially in the summer!
