stressed out

stressed out

I mean nothing is life or death, (really peanuts compared to what some girls are going through) but I keep getting tension headaches from the stress... Maybe if I just vent a little here it will make me feel better.

FH is stressing me out because his GM are out of town and he doesn't want to ask them to pay $175+tax for tuxes. Is this an absurd amount? It includes the tux, vest, tie, shirt, and shoes. He wants us to pay for part of it, and I don't see why we should have to do that because they are OOT and 'not used to' LI prices. My brother is a GM and he is not offering to pay for his deposit. What? Because my brother is from LI, its ok?? Also we didn't pay anything for the BM's and they are spending ALOT more than $175!! But because they are from LI, its ok for them to spend the money? My parents say they agree with me, but I should pick my battles. I am just really annoyed with him over this.

He is also stressing me out because him and his parents decided that to spend extra money on beer and wine at the RD is not worth it. I just feel its rude make people pay for their drinks. But they are paying for it and hosting it, so I guess its not really my problem... again picking battles I guess..

Next issue is not with FH. We gave a deposit for an apartment last Sunday and were told that it was accepted. We have not signed the lease though yet, and that is concerning me. We are waiting for the landlord to give us a date we can sign. The real estate agent said something about her having to draw it up with her lawyer, which I don't understand. Wouldn't all her tenants have the same lease and and just have to change the names, etc?? We ordered furniture last weekend, and I don't feel we really have a place until I have that lease in my hands. I don't really have experience with leases and stuff, does this seem normal? The move-in date is Feb. 1st...

Sorry so long, but thanks for letting me vent. It helps to complain a little.

The guys should pay for their own tuxes if the girls are paying for their own dresses, end of story. Everyone had ample time to come up with the money for rentals, and you should not be covering them just because they are not used to LI prices.

As for everything else, you're right about the RD, it would be rude to ask people to pay for their own drinks. In that instance, I would pick up that part of the bill, but that's just me.

I can't help with the apartment situation. I've never had a lease!! But I can give you these!

1) $175 is NOT too much - especially from your brother!

2) I understand how you feel about not wanting guests to pay for their drinks. If you can, you can either pay for them or just blame the FILs. If anyone complains, just remind them that the wedding is open bar.

3) Can't help you on this. Just wanted to give you

Every time I ever rented an apt. I signed a standard lease agreement. Never heard of the landlord having one drawn up .....

Re: stressed out

tell him to get a grip about the tuxes...his friends I assume are grown ups....tell them to be a bridesmaid for a day and then check their wallets. If they want to save money, they can all share a hotel room.

As for the RD, if I were you, I personally (without the 'help' of fh) would set a tab limit, and pay whatever the beer/wine charge is above the pp amount without it. If something means that much to me, but he doesn't see the point, I use my own money, and pay for it myself.

I doubt they are drawing it up from scratch, but it could take a little time...just keep on them. there's only a week to go, so by hounding them I don't think you'd be being unreasonable.
