OMG...i just found out that some of my guests got a better deal at our hotel without using our room block rate!! I'm SO pissed about this! So far 3 people booked outside of our block to save money..has this happened to anyone? any suggestions?

OH and may I mention that if we have 15 rooms, we get our honeymoon suite FREE....if I had these 3 others...i'd get a free room!! UGH!!!! I wish I didnt have eto wait until tomorrow to give them a piece of my mind! LOL

I would say something. One of the reasons you reserved the block other than to guarantee there would be enougb rooms is to save money for your guests.

that happened to me when we went to FH's company dance, the blocked rooms were $150 a night, but the ones that were not were $129 a night! they said that since they are all in the same area is why it cost more, im like EFFFF that we dont need to be near people when we are sleeping.
and the hotel is holding off rooms, so they loose money. BUtt its stupid cause they will just have to fight w us anyway about it. isnt that the point of a discounted rate???

This happened to us and it was really annoying. I feel your pain.
I called and complianed numerous times but in the end the only thing they would do is credit me the guests who booked outside the block. Of course, this required me providing my entire guest list. Again, it was a hassel but I wanted to make sure that 1. Each guest received a welcome box and 2. We received credit for ALL rooms because if we reached a certain number of rooms in the block our wedding suite was free.

Happened to us too because some of my guests had military discounts and timeshare rates. Call the hotel and ask that those rooms be added as part of your block. Especially if you're doing OOT bags, you need to make sure those guests get bags. My hotel had no problem doing that for us.
