HELP! My wedding is 02/26/05. 4 weeks and my sister JUST tried on her bm dress and she is soooo uncomfortable in it....too tight. she was given the option to order the bigger size when we ordered, but she was going to 'lose 30 pounds!' Been there...and now she hates it... I so don't want her to be uncomfortable that night...any thoughts on what to do? the place said there is no way they can get a new dress and do alterations in 4 weeks...they called the manufacturer in front of me....soooooooo upset!

Find a really good steamstress! Is there any extra fabric from the hem that they could add to the dress up above???

I wish.....god this sucks...i may just find similar fabric and have one made...i just don't want her to be uncomfortable that day, ya know? word to the wize..always order up! thanks for the thought though...

oh no!!!as christine said find a GREAT seamstress...or a store that has a sample for sale of ANY dress int hat color/fabric an dget a seamstress to use that to fix it.

Did the dress come with a wrap?? Maybe they can use that? That really sucks. Does the dress fit, but it's just tight?

I know from firsthand experience that she CAN lose a lot of weight, at least close to 30 lbs where she to go on Atkins now...www.atkins.com. She also needs to work out for at least an hour a day (cardio is best)...it's a HUGE commitment, but much cheaper than buying a new dress.

Oh no, I've definitely been there. Yea, I would definitely recommend all of the above options. It is possible, even if she loses 10 - 15 pounds/ or get toned up, she may feel a lot more comfortable.

Is your sister the MOH?? If so then I've been to weddings where the MOH wore a different dress but the same color or the same dress in a different color. That may be an option

Thanks guys! unfortunately, my sister has 2 young kids, so working out is tough, but would you believe that Bridal Reflections, altered the dress for my sister within hours to see if she was happier with it and then offered to rush order material (not for free obviously), and reconstruct the dress? they were really amazing, and sooo nice. they definitely agreed that they sold me a dress that is actually a mermaid style and passed it off as a forgiving a-line. In the end, my sister is happier and just won't be eating for a month! Thanks so much for your responses. I went to my catering hall tonight and made final selections! i'm so psyched! Christine - FM Cubanbride. Her wedding gown was too small and she brought it to some seamstress she got good reviews on. The woman promised that she could make it fit so I'm certain they can do the same with your sister's. Also, contact the manufacturer to see if you can order an extra yard or so of fabric. This may make a seamstress' job easier, depending on how small it is (30 lbs is a lot of weight).
Let us know how it turns out and don't stress it! Let your sister handle this, you have plenty going on yourself!!
