I've reached a point where nothing seems to be going right - (excluding FH).
School is horrible, everyday as I'm driving, I can't help but think about how much I hate it. I hate the school, I hate the subject material, and I hate the concept of 'school' altogether. I feel like such a bum 'cause the kid sitting next to me is soooo into the lecture, and all I can think about is the mo!e on the professor's chin.
I made too much $ last year (I can't understand how it is considered too much, I barely make enough to live comfortably and save.), so I no longer qualify for the amt. of financial aid I was receiving. I have a $1000 credit card bill for a portion of last semester's books and tuition, and just got a $1600 for THIS semester's tuition...AND something is screwy with my deductions at work, and I owe the gov't almost $1000.
Better yet, I'm taking 18 credits, and my hours were cut at work, so I'm down to under 20hrs a week.
This is INSANE. There goes my savings. I don't understand how FH and I are ever going to have enough money for a wedding, and FORGET about a home!!!
I just don't like where I am in my life right now, and I'm not sure what I can do about changing it. I understand that I have to finish school (UGH I hate it), decide what I want to do with my life (yes, I'm now questioning that too), and pretty much GROW UP....the question is HOW?!

Re: stressin'. Rant (sorry)
Breathe honey, breathe! If I had a dollar for every moment I had like this, well, I would have enough money that I'd never have a moment like this again!
Two years ago, JT and I were living in Massachusetts in a beautiful apartment that we basically scraped through the couch change to pay for. I would go to work everyday at a job where the kids I taught physically attacked me, JT would have to SNEAK ONTO the train in the mornings to get into Boston just to GO to school. He'd leave at 5am so he'd have time to walk for an hour to get to class because he didn't have the DOLLAR for the subway! The ONLY way we were able to EAT was because one of my girlfriends worked for a company that made natural food products and she gave me wads of manufacturers coupons, so we went and bought out the entire grocery store with FREE COUPONS! So much so that the next time we went into the super market, they NO LONGER TOOK MANUFACTURERS COUPONS! We would pay our bills EVERY OTHER month and sell stuff on ebay just to get by...............
My point here is this....JT graduated, now has a good job, and we are still not 100% financially stable, but we've cleaned up our credit, paid off a ton of debt and managed to save a ton of money in the last few months. We've had to sacrifice living on our own for a year, but it was worth it in the end. It will work out. I promise you nothing less than that!

Re: stressin'. Rant (sorry)
Thank you so much Rachel. You brought me to tears. You had each other, and it all worked out.
I feel like I'm in this by myself at the moment. FH is having his own career worries (see my other post , and he doesn't have any $$$ to spare, but if he was in financial trouble, his parents are there for him (although I doubt he'd take it.) My parents raised 3 kids (I'm the oldest), so there's 2 younger ones for them to worry about. I'm just glad they're letting me live at home rent-free!!!
I know I'm just going to have to keep trying, but at what point will it stop!?!

Re: stressin'. Rant (sorry)
JT and I came from two very different sets of parents, but we both learned one thing: no matter how little money we have, it's always going to be ok. In his case, his parents never knew how to pull ahead, and to some extent, never wanted to pull ahead....but in my case, my parents were p1ss poor my whole life, but because my mom started school when she was 38 and went straight through to get her masters the same year I graduated high school. Now, they have a gorgeous, brand new house on the water, they are buying a villa in Tuscany, drive nice cars, etc....so I KNOW there is hope for those of us who will continue to work towards what we want. You are in a great position, you're in school and that is why you are struggling financially. I'd much rather be struggling because I'm securing my future, than be stable right now, but unsure about what kind of job I'll be qualified for in the future. It may not end soon, but it will end. Try looking at it as being 'in it' with FH. If you two handle these things together, you will be that much better off after you are married.

Re: stressin'. Rant (sorry)
just dont ever give up!!! especially on your education... i know so many grown adults without their 4-year degree, and that is their biggest regret in life... not finishing!
you'll get over this hump... just focus on all the positives in your life...

Re: stressin'. Rant (sorry)
Hang in there Shorty! The semester is almost over! I used to make a countdown to see how many days/weeks were left in the semester. That helped me to get through those crazy weeks! My FH is going to schook now and working full time and it *****. I'm payng off student loans ans like you said its really hard trying to save $ for the wedding and a house. I just keep thinking that eventually it will all be worth it!!!!

Thank you everyone - it means a lot to know that people who never even met me are willing to offer hugs and nice words - now, if only I could get my FAMILY to do the same, I'd be doing better!!!

You ARE in the process of doing something to get yourself a better life!! Unfortunately, school can s u c k at times, but in the end it is very worth all the suffering. And don't be too hard on yourself - 18 credits is alot ot handle. I can totally understand you being stressed!

Re: stressin'. Rant (sorry)
Hang in there Nicole! I know how hard it is to be in school and completely frustrated with it. I've been in school since Kindergarten and I'm almost 26 years old. I've second guessed my career choice at least once a week. I've never had a real income and have to rely on DH for all my money now. He doesn't make a hell of a lot, and we're having a hard time making ends meet without spending all of our wedding money. There are some days where I feel like we'll never get out of our one bedroom apartment and be able to afford a house and children. Then i realize that one day things WILL be easier and that as long as we're going through it together it will all be okay.
