Stressing Bride need advice, Please Help

Stressing Bride need advice, Please Help

I was originally going to get married at my church which is about 45min-1hour away from the hall. So being that I am having and afternoon reception which starts at 1:30 I would have to get married at around 10 o'clock. Well the night before I was going to stay in a hotel that is down the block from church, because I have a large bridal party and it would be hard to have 12 girls taking pictures and what not at my house. So I was going to rent out a couple of rooms. But I was going to have to get up at the like 6 to start the day and be rushed all day. So I thought that since I am having my reception at the East Wind and they have the INN maybee it would be easier for myself and my guests if we got married there and then I could stay there the night before and go to the spa and not have to rush around so much in the morning and really enjoy my day. Then my mom says to me oh dont you think you are going to miss the limo ride and this and that. And I was already thinking that but when she said it, it made it ten times worse and now I feel like I made a mistake and maybee I should get married at the Church. But then the other problem is I have a 30 person bridal party and to get them all to the hall is going to be a hughe hassel and allot of money. And I figured I would rent a couple of rooms the night before and all the girls could stay over and then we can take a limo to go get our hair done and come back, and then I will even be their when they are setting up the hall and can make sure everything is that way I want it. I dont know what to do know and need some advice. Also I am not sure at this point if we can even get married at my church because I am Penecostal and my Fiance is Cathalic. So if I do it this way and worse comes to worse they wont marry us I can just have someone else do it, and not have to worry about switching everything over to the hall at the last min. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!

I was in the same boat Bridget.....I have a large bridal party although not as big as yours...it's soooo much easier to do it all at the hall....it's good to get ready, good for the guests (especially the OOT), and it saves YOU stress and time. If it is what YOU want...do it! We are thinking of getting the limos after the wedding and going around to a few bars for drinks since our party ends at 5pm...also saves ALOT of money on limos!!

First, deep breaths. You are getting married November of 2005 - you have time, you shouldn't be stressing about this now.

Maybe you should contact a church and see what your options are. If they will marry you...what you would need to do if they decide they will marry you...etc. Next, you should weigh out the options. What is more important to you - marrying at a church and a limo ride or staying calm and having sanity the day of your wedding.

The most important thing to do is to do what YOU and your FH want to do - and not let so many outside people influence your decisions...or worse, make you second guess your decisions.

I was figuring I could do the Limo ride in the mornign when we go get our hair done and maybee even go out to breakfast. Thank you so much for your response, I can not believe how many people looked at this and did not respond.

I know I have plenty of time but this is the only thing I want to get settled was the reception and the ceremony and then I am leaving the rest till next year.

You do have time to come to a final decision. If I could, i would get married at the reception hall. No traveling, etc. If you really think you will miss the limo, that getting your hair done, etc would be good for limo.

Are you paying for the rooms for BP?? Make sure they are ok with the arrangements.

It's your day and do what is right for you 2, no one else.

Hi~

I had the same dilemma I have 23 people in my BP and it would have cost me almost 4k for limos to transport everyone around. I am having my reception at Oheka so I decided to get married there instead alot less stressful. The thought of trying to heard around that many people was scaring me I think it will be so much easier for everyone when everything happens in one place.

Edited for my bad spelling

Yes my mom would pay for the rooms if I do it that way. Well I just got off the phone with my mom and she was telling me that she just dose not want me to do it because of the money and to please everyone that she wants to make sure it was my decision. She said this because FMIL was complaining about the ride and such. So she just wanted to make sure it was my decision and not because people were pushing me to do it. She also said she should have not said what she said and then rushed off the phone. So she called me back to explain what she meant. She is a VP of a marketing firm and the place is always hectic. Any way she thought that I should stay at a hotel down the block from the East Wind, they have a recommended Hotel that is not that far away and then I can get ready there and take the limos to the East Wind. So then I would just get a limo for us girls and one for Fiance and his guys and a Rolls Royce for me and I will still have the same experience. With alot less stress. Plus then I will not take the risk of running into Fiance since he can get ready at his house which is 10 min from the East Wind. So problem solved.

Can you get married at a church closer to East Wind that way you can have the best of both worlds?

Not really because we were getting married at my Uncle's church and their would be very hard feelings. But if we get married at the East Wind he could marry us their.

Im getting married at the hall.
I know the limo thing is big..so we are thinking just me and FH will drive away in the limo after its all done. We're having a morning wedding...reception is over by 5 so we figure that's good enough. We'll probably stay in the same hotel as the guests.. I'm sleeping over with my MOH in the hotel the night before.

This may all change if/when we get our own apt.

The reason to get married in a Church is NOT so you can take a limo ride. You need to search inside yourself and decide if you want a Church wedding for religious reasons or for a limo ride.
Honestly, that seems like a very silly reason IMO.
It is expensive to transport such a large bridal party- I know because I did that. I had a parent limo, 2 BP limos and a couple's car. It was NOT cheap to rent so many cars. BUT I wanted a Church wedding for personal reasons so I did that.

The limo ride was not something that I would rate as an all-important moment during our day. I would never re-arrange my entire wedding around it.

My uncle is still going to do a full Church wedding at the Hall, and In my Honest Opinion it is not the Church that makes a wedding it is the two people and the vows that they exchange. Trust me my uncle could have and has had Church anywhere. My ceremony would be just as special and religious if I had it in the Church or the hall.

So to some it up- your mom made you feel guilty becuase you were trying to make it easier for everyone and be close, so they could sleep a little later. In doing so, you aren't going to get a limo? Big woopty do! My sis had to get up at 3:30 to be in the hair dresser's chair at 4. Granted she's a morning person but please. Do what works best with the time.

PS: Not a big limo fan- never knew anyone that had a great experience.

I would just do it at the hall...I guess I say that because thats what Im doing..we arent having a limo..and at first I was sad..but big deal..we will be taking our time all day getting fixed up,,theres no rush to do anything..which will make me feel like a less stressed bride.
If you are set on the church and they wont marry you..what about finding a romantic chapel closer to your hall..then maybe you wouldnt be as stressed. I dont know if making sense..but Im trying!!
It will all work out..and I know its easier said than done because i panic on a regular basis..but take your time and breathe....somehow it will all fall into place!! Hang in there!!
