Stretch Marks

Re: Stretch Marks

I was RELIGIOUS with cocoa butter, and I don't have a single stretch mark. I am VERY glad, as I have STRONG intentions of being back in my bikini this summer.

Re: Stretch Marks

I got 2 small stretch marks that are where my belly ring used to be... if it wasn't for that darn thing, I wouldn't have any...

I think any lotion works as long as you keep it 'lubed-up!'

I also used Palmer's stretch mark cream religiously and have gotten no stretch marks yet in my 8th month!
But I have read in a few places that no amount of cream can stop stretch marks from appearing since they originate from the skin's interior and not the outside.
I'm still using my creams though!

It's a cocoa butter moisturizing stick from the Body Shop. I heard good things about it, and am happy to report that they are true.

Jenn, I'm glad the cocoa butter stick worked for you! It definitely helped me to not feel so 'itchy' during pregnancy, but I was not as lucky as you when it comes to the stretch marks -> I have a TON (on my belly only, thank god!)

It's pretty much genetic...if your skin is not very elastic, you will get them no matter what you do. My Mom and my aunt don't have them either. I guess I inherited my father's family's skin genes...
