Re: Strike in New Hyde Park?
It may sound silly, but I thought about it for my friend's bachelorette party. I know I always have a blast bowling!
They're not a 'going out' bunch, so I thought dinner and then Strike (and drinks
) would be a little fun.Does that sound lame?

Re: Strike in New Hyde Park?
It's a nice place if you have something planned. But, if you are going for spur of the moment.....let's just say....well, here's my story....Last weekend we went bowling with 2 other couples and we ended up paying $160 for bowling only! We're not cheap....I just didn't expect to pay that much for bowling. Mind you......that didn't include Drinks. We had 3 pitchers for like $56. Crazy. We thought they over charged but no....those were the prices. We had fun though!

Re: Strike in New Hyde Park?
I went there once with friends when it first opened and we all hated it. The service was horrible. I guess it had gotten better, so I need to give it another try.

Re: Strike in New Hyde Park?
I went with FI and a few other couples. We had a great time. We went on the go-carts, had drinks at the bar and appetizers.BUT it's true... be prepared to shell out the big-bucks. The place is very pricy.

Re: Strike in New Hyde Park?
I used to be the Marketing Manager there. I got laid off about a month ago. I can tell you that it is pricey and the staff is still a little disorganized. They have had several managers in the six months they have been open. If you have the money to spend then you will have fun. I can tell also say that the sushi is great, if you like that.

Re: Strike in New Hyde Park?
I went there and had the WORST time. the food was awful, burnt, the staff was not responsive and it was too crowded (and overpriced). The bowling area was so disorganized they told me i had to wait a undetermined amount of time for a lane but gave one right away to my husband. But thats just IMHO.

Re: Strike in New Hyde Park?
I've been there twice. Aside from the disorganized staff (one waitress took our drink order....and that was it, she kept walking around like la la la I'm in my own world after 20 mins she came to take it again and i said didnt you get it the first time) other than that we had a really great time

Re: Strike in New Hyde Park?
We've been there a few times, and it is a fun place, the bowling and go carts are good. But you have to be prepared to spend lot of $$$. We took my sister there and for the 3 of us to bowl and only her to do the race track it was over $60! Way to expensive!

Re: Strike in New Hyde Park?
I failed to mention above .....that I had an argument with one of the employees. When I asked for an Itemized bill, he leaned over to the manager and said, 'She is freaking giving me a hard time' Give me a freaking break!! Asking for an itemized bill is giving him a hard time!! It's called a receipt! I was p oed! He was rude and unprofessional. Not only that, they trie to bill us twice on seperate credit cards for $150Welcome New Vendors
