Has anyone priced them to play at church. Looking for a round about price. We heard one play at the bridal extravaganza and FH loved them.

You should go on the Vendors Helping Bride Forum. I got a few quotes from there for our cocktail hour and all seemed reasonable. We didn't actually book anyone, we are still deciding if we have the money for it.

I saw the one at the BE also... and LOVED them! I'm so glad I went b/c I posted on the VHB board and the responses I got were good price wise but the customer service of the groups were not so good!! One sent me a sample CD with like four short clips and it said 'Please return CD' all over it and then I got a letter literally 36 hours later asking for it back AGAIN... I was really turned off. Also, none of the vendors I dealt with would let me hear the group LIVE (only with CDs which could be ANYONE playing) and none of them could guarantee (unless something horrible happened god forbid) that the people I heard/saw would be the ones I would GET that day.
One thing you don't take chances with is live music b/c strings are either beautiful or they sound like dying cats-- and The Vintage String Quartet (who was at the BE) was BEAUTIFUL and it's the same group of people-- they have been playing together for years and most of all, they are specially trained... you have to be 'professional' to do weddings like that or else it's not the same.
I actually had the pleasure of talking to the quartet leader yesterday (Francesca) and we spoke about how I was so discouraged with all the quartets I had contact with until her-- We got to hear them, their names will go on the contract that it will infact be THEM that day, we get to meet with them beforehand to go over a playlist and what we want to hear, etc. Other places just wanted me to mail them a check not ever meeting anyone and just mail a playlist-- I did not trust that at ALL!
And most of all, it truly seems that Francesca and her group have a PASSION for what they do-- it's not just about business. I found their prices to be VERY fair considering we are getting professionals, guaranteed the peole we heard, have played together for years AND sound SO good!! I was very impressed and I'm definitely booking with them as soon as I get the contract from Francesca-- we spoke for 30 minutes on the phone yesterday-- VERY nice and I can safely say I HIGHLY recommend them!!!
I'm so excited-- I was quoted for a full mass, before and after the mass and our CH!!
ETA: the pic I have saved won't post... but let me give you Francesca's info so you can email her about pricing since yours will be different then mine (mine is a lot longer and a lot more playing!) HTH, good luck!!!

Thanks for the info. I like her already we have the same name, LOL. I remember your post about the cd and their name so I will not call them. It turned me off. I cant believe it costs them next to nothing to make the cd and then they wanted it back. Thanks so much.

and to think that Vintage String Quartets prices are pretty much the same as all the other vendors I spoke with-- but they are SO above and beyond with the way they conduct themselves (which leads me to believe the sound will not be the same either)...
