Hi Girls. Question for you about a string quartet during my ceremony and reception...
My ceremony and reception will be held at the same place. I'm hiring a quartet for the ceremony (30 minutes). My CH is extended and will be 1.5 hours. We're going to have a DJ for the reception.
The question is...do I have the string quartet for all, part or none of the cocktail hour? We can afford to have it for the entire CH, but FH thinks that 2 hours of strings may be too much. Do people want to listen to a quartet for so long? I'm using Vintage String Quartet and I know they can play classical, rock, etc.
FH thinks we should have the quartet for part of the CH and then have the DJ pipe in music for the rest of it.
Will it be strange for the quartet to leave part way through the CH? I've never attended a CH with a quartet, so I'm not sure what it's like. Thanks for any input!

Re: String Quartet for Ceremony AND CH?
I like the strings for the entire CH bec your guests will have the dj for all of the reception so why not have different music for the entire CH.

Re: String Quartet for Ceremony AND CH?
I'm having them for both. My CH is only an hour though.

I don't see why you shouldn't do them for both...I love when I go to a wedding and the CH isn't canned music.
