String Quartet Recommendations?

Hi ladies!

I've always dreamed of having a string quartet for our ceremony. Do you ladies have any suggestions for really amazing string quartets? (I played the violin for 14 years, so I'm a little on the picky side.)

When you chose a quartet, did you listen to a recording or see them play live?

Also, if anyone saw a really terrific quartet, whether it was at your wedding, or someone else's - please let me know.

We're booking the Capriccio Ensemble - we actually did get to hear them live at an Antiques show in NYC last week and they were quite good (I played the cello for a number of years). We're booking the string trio.

we used Sterling Music Ensembles and loved them. Professional, on time and sounded wonderful (they're a vendor here so you can find info under vendors)

we also booked with sterling after hearing a demo cd. i am also a violinist and a vocalist so i am extemely picky about music.
