My wedding will be ending on a Sunday evening, so people are likely to get stuck in Hamptons-summer-Montauk Highway traffic. I was wondering if there was anything I could pass out that would make the trip a little less annoying. Any ideas?

Re: Stuck in traffic...
ok, this may sound really silly, but the last time i went on a road trip we were all so bored sitting in traffic that we made up our own mad libs.. You could make up ones that were about your wedding /family/friends etc. and then hand them to people who had long drives. I know it may seem a bit juvenile, but we had so much fun doing them!

How about music for the ride - Burn some CD for people traveling and hand them out at the church.

I think anything would be nice but not really necessary. You are also getting married in very early June. The traffic isnt that bad yet.... or maybe Im just too used to it

It is definitely thoughtful! But I agree; it's probably not necessary, especially if people are going together. They'll chat & stuff, and I know my friends (not the ones driving enjoyed some pre-party cocktails on their way out!

I don't think you need anything either...they are all going to be talking about your wedding!! I know everytime we leave a wedding or party for that matter, we always talk about what happened...you're fine, don't stress yourself out!

Re: Stuck in traffic...
Thanks everyone. I guess people will be fine after a big meal and plenty of cake and wine!! Guess I'm only stressing because future in-laws have made comments about people having to sit in Hamptons traffic because it's a Sunday evening (and we can't have it on a Sat. night because the Jewish ceremony would have to start at sundown, which in June would be 8, while music has to end at 11 because of a town law). But I guess traffic is better than no party!

I think a CD would be a nice favor, but you don't HAVE to give them anything for the ride. Oh, I just thought of another good thing. Maybe you can give them To Go Bags, with a small snack and a bottle of water.
