Along with the actual Save the Date card. Do people write letters that say 'Newark is not a good idea when flying in because it is in Jersey and we are all the way out east in Port Jeff' etc. You get my drift? I am going to refer them to www.portjeff.com as well for touristy stuff (envelopes are too small to include Chamber of Commerce stuff)
I guess what I'm asking is what is the most effective way to include all pertinent info along with the Save the Date cards?

How about making a little note saying something like:
We suggest to fly in either JFK or La Guardia We have blocked rooms at the following hotels... Please check the following information sources for area attractions...

What about creating a website & referring your guests there? You can include all of the details that you couldn't include in a STD .... links to airlines etc.
Note, some airlines offer discounts for wedding guests .. I know American did ... and you earn points for flying! Check it out so you can offer a group rate.
Also, make your room block & include that info b/c guests will call ahead to book their rooms.

Karina you are too kind I did make a STD packet, and I will take pics tonight w. my new digital camera to post tomorrow. They are finally done (hooray!!) I included wedding info (church and reception), travel info and accomadations. For travel info, we directed guests to MacArthur airport as we are getting married in East Northport. Also included LIRR info for our guests in NYC. For accomadations, I listed hotel info for the 2 hotels we blocked for guests. I am sending them out this week. We have half our guests coming from Syracuse, so I need to give them as much planning info as I can

I sent out a Save the Date pamphlet as well. It included hotel accomodations, travel information, and information about things to do on Long Island. I will try to post a pic tonight. FM me if you would like the template. I would be happy to send it to you.
