Re: stumped
I was in the same predicament. In order to not pay for my rooms and then be reimbursed, I had to have a cut off date for 3 months before my wedding. Since invitations are not going to be out that early, I typed up this cute little card with our monogram on it and I am mailing them. I am not mailing them to everyone. I am only mailing it to friends, immediate family, and OOT guests. We blocked 20 rooms and I figure these people are the most important and will definitely fill the rooms. GL

Re: stumped
my first thought would be for you to update this info on your wedding website if you have one. did you include a website on your STD? honestly, your guests probably won't be booking a hotel until you send out your invites anyway. i wouldn't worry too much about it!

Re: stumped
Most people send them out with the invites because people will not know if they will be staying in a hotel anyway until closer to the wedding
Re: stumped
i have had many cousins get married and they have always sent the hotel info with the actual invites. If you send the invites 4-6 weeks before the wedding, that would be plenty of time for people to know whether or not they are going to stay overnight. If you have the rooms blocked, it should be fine with the RH.
Re: stumped
dont worry, most dont even send it with STD's, they send the hotel block room info with the invites. Send your invites about 2-3 months before and it will be more than fine. It will have the date on there that says by what day they have to book. But yeah i always get those with invites and i send mine out with my invites. The hotel holds those rooms for you until a month exactly before your wedding date
Re: stumped
my cut off is only 1 month before wedding so we are sending the info with our invitations. sorry that doesnt really help you!

Re: stumped
About 6 months before my wedding date, I sent a letter to my OOT guests with information about airline discount through American Airlines and hotel accomodations. It was a rather long letter, in which I made it clear when the cut-off date was for booking rooms before they would be released. I also provided a map showing the various wedding-related venues so that guests had an idea of where things are.
