stupid calendar
after all that, ya know, finding a date in 2014 that we liked and that WASN'T taken, and that had all of the qualifications that we were looking for (OMG, I'm pretty sure that was my first Bridezilla moment...), anyway... the date we picked fell right in the middle of Passover..
now let me tell you, FH and I are not even remotely close to religious, and neither are our families, but his mother pitched a holy fit! After careful consideration, we realized she was probably right and that some of his more religious family members may not have attended, we had to CHANGE OUR DATE.
Anyway, so our Banquet Manager was TOTALLY accommodating and she even gave us the great idea of having it on a Sunday in May to save money, and it was really like a Saturday because Memorial Day is a federal holiday and like 99% of people have the day off that following Monday.
Long story short, although I'm afraid it might be too late to call this short... we got a great deal AND the place we wanted.
