Nicole Richie will go to jail if she is convicted of driving under the
influence.

'The Simple Life' star - who was charged for the offense on Monday
(12.11.06) - has a previous DUI charge and California law states that a
repeat offense carries the mandatory sentence of five consecutive days in
county jail.

If convicted, Nicole would also have her driving license suspended for one
year and be ordered to attend an alcohol education program for a
year-and-a-half, even if the second conviction is not alcohol-related.

Nicole, the adopted daughter of singer Lionel Richie, was arrested in the
early hours of Monday morning for driving the wrong way along a California
freeway.

She admitted to police she had taken the strong painkiller Vicodin and had
smoked marijuana.

All of the DUIs by celebs, sports stars, etc. FLOOR ME.

These people are all sooo rich and could EASILY pay for a cab, he!! a private driver to take their drunk @sses home... I just dont get it!

i hope she gets sentenced to more than 5 days and someone makes her their BIITCH!

“I just left an AA meeting,” the 20-year-old actress tells People magazine in a story posted Tuesday on its Web site.

“I haven’t had a drink in seven days. Or anything,” she says. “I’m not even legal to, so why would I? I don’t drink when I go to clubs. I drink with my friends at home, but there’s no need to. I feel better not drinking. It’s more fun. I have Red Bull.”




Okay So.................in rehab for 1 year....hasnt had a drink in 7 days........whats wrong there
THEN she says........Im not even LEGAL.........

I just dont understand! They are sooo dumb

She's not dealin with a full deck!! If you ask me, she's taken after her father. Who was a blatent drunk, now behind bars for it. It's not always like father like son....In this case it's Like father like daughter. Ohhhhhhhhhh the things that money does

Maybe I put too much thought into this But I was thinking this morning that maybe she's mandated to go to AA since after 2 DUI's in CA you have to attend an alcohol abuse class.

Out of ANYONE who can afford a cab or even a LIMO to cart their azz around-- CELEBS can.

SHE SHOULD BE HIT BY A BUS... along with anyone else who drinks and drives
