Stupid Florist Question

Stupid Florist Question

We signed a contract with our florist a few months ago. We didn’t know exactly what we wanted since we're not sure what colors we're using, but now I’m wondering if we have to stick to the flowers that were on the contract?

Like our CPs were orchids, hydrangeas and roses… what if I decide I don’t want hydrangeas anymore? Am I stuck with what’s on there? Like, what if I do all roses so it’s cheaper… do I have to pay the price we were quoted? (not that I'm planning on doing that, I was just curious - and I blame our BOTW for posting all those pics of cabbage roses, now I want those! )

well i should think you would be able to ammend what types of flowers or colors...my florist told me i can change my mind as much as i wanted up until 2 wks before (when he had to order my blooms)

ask them but if you feel iffy about it i would wait so it looks like you only changed your mind once

ETA: eventhough he gave permission to change a gazillion times...i am holding out for a little bit before i tell the 100 changes i have

I would ask right away... probably the sooner you let them know the more likely they are to be able to change things and modify your quote if it is affected.

Good luck!

You can change the flowers, just know the price might change with that. We had the same discussion with my florist and it's totally cool. My cousin used the same florist as me and she changed her mind a bunch of times and he always adjusted the price accordingly.

Probably depends on the florist. Ours told us that we could modify everything upto 3 weeks before the wedding free of charge no matter what flowers we wanted. But some of the other florists that we visited did not tell us this so check with your florist ASAP. You should be able to change it for free, though.

we were given up to 2 weeks before to change and for us, the flower prices would change as well...obviously calla lillies are going to cost more than roses. Just call and ask them!

No, the colors should always changable but not the acutal cp. (i.e.: if you chose a low one and switch to a high one he will probably charge you)

Our florist said that we can change anything we want up until the last few weeks before the wedding, though we might have to pay more depending on the flowers we'd choose.

It's Pedestals... he had said that we don't have to pick our actual flowers until like a month before... but I don't remember if that was just for the color of the flowers or the types of flowers.

I didn't agree to flowers when I signed b/c I wasn't sure what I wanted either. I am able to pick at a later date and get whatever flowers I want. But I know my friends picked flowers and then was able to change them....

I don't think it should be a problem. If they are more expensive, maybe you might have to pay the difference.

i used pedestals, i also asked if i was able to change my flowers incase i changed my mind and they said it would be no problem at all. Of course this could mean the price will change if you use different flowers.

No matter what, with a florist the price can always change. For example, when you go in for a quote youre giving them the amount of cp's you need based on assumption...so before the wedding after you finalize things you have to tell them if you will have the amount of tables you told them originally or if you will have less or more. ALSO i stress this, make sure you tell them this info ASAP. With guests rsvp'ing late and my guest count changing everyday up until a few days before the wedding i waited to tell them that instead of 25 tables i will have 22 tables. Well i went too late bc they took out my sheet and a big stamp saying processed was on it, meaning they already ordered it. Normally my final balance should've been lower bc now i was going to get less cp's but bc i waited too long which was my fault bc nadia was telling me to pay it sooner bc of this, i waited and it was ok just said to put the extra flowers in the other cp's to make it fuller and to add to place card table.

Even when i went for my sample CP months before, some things changed and they revised it with the new balance
