Stupid Me...

So, for some reason I thought it was a good idea to send FH the link to the Perfect Cardbox, and the Modern Bride cardbox, to see what his opinion on them was. I'm leaning towards the Perfect Cardbox, and had a feeling he would too, just wanted the reassurance.

So now he's flipping out at the price (duh), and says we don't need one, just get a regular box, that majority of one gift just goes to pay for the gift holder, etc.



I don't know why I even friggen bother. This is why generally I do NOT show him the details of the wedding and anything that's not major vendor related.

Ditto Mirabella!! See my FH will add on ANYTHING he thinks is awesome, regardless of price! I had picked out the plain 3 present card box from FTMB. After FH saw them, he made me upgrade it to the 5-7 present size.

And this is also why he's not going to know that I intend on spending close to 200 dollars on venetian masks!

I too agree don't tell him. I have not told my FH that i booked video because he would flip. He's learning about this the day of and i will tell i paid $500 . I hate to lie but i don't want to hear the crap.

My mom just OKd spending the money for the Perfect Cardbox because she decided with the lock on it that its a safe place for the cards that we won't have to worry about theft.

I would use that as your reasoning. Better to spend the $75 on the box then lose the hundereds (lets hope) that will be inside it.

I did use this as my reasoning, and he said that he thinks I'm exaggerating that people steal cards, and got all like no one is going to steal a card that's there, like I was saying his family or friends, geez. So i just said for 20-30 bucks more than a plain chest box, which isn't necessarily cheaper just because it's plain, I'm getting the one with the lock and that we can use again as a picture frame!

I have put my foot down lol. I'll get what I want hehe.

Its funny you brought this up because I had the same argument with FH. I wanted the one from the modern bride SO BAD, and FH said it was a waste of money- so I bought it with MY MONEY and said well if you dont want to use our money (which we have in a savings account) then I'll buy it myself....... so I did lol

Now he has nothing to say because he didnt technically pay for it


Forgot to add: If its what you want, who cares what he thinks- buy it with your money and too bad for him.... I think it gives a really nice touch! Andddddd they are made so that people just cant steal envelopes

You can get an imperfect one from the perfect cardbox (not sure if there still offering it) for like $20. I got mine from them that way and the only thing imperfect about it was the paint chipped on the side i put spray paint and you cant even tell.

I thought the modern bride cardbox's was a bit pricey as well considering some ppl wont even feel comfortable putting there money in it and may hand it to you anyway.

Really, for 20? That's crazy! The imperfect ones there were 60, so 20 dollars off...but not 20 total. Geez, I always miss the sales.

LOL. I love you girls! I recently learned this lesson and FMIL fully supports it, she says to make the wedding a series of 'little surprises' for FH.

So at the rehearsal dinner, FH will learn about our Day of Coordinator when he meets her for the first time- SURPRISE!
