What's the proper way to write someone's name on the placecard: Mr. & Mrs. John Smith Mr. & Mrs. J. Smith I'm using frames and the cards are so small is it wrong just to write someone's first initial or must I write out the whole name?

I think the entire name written is the formal and proper way of doing it...

Yea, that's what I figured...I hope I can get those guests with really long last names to fit nicely on the card. Thanks
