STUPID QUESTION???

i feel very stupid but...i saw a few posts before and i have NO idea what hand cancelling means... ..can someone tell me...

I believe it's when you take your invites to the post office and they hand stamp them for mailing instead of running them through the machines. This way it doesn't ruin the invite.

I hand-cancelled mine and they put them through the machine anyway. Some of mine got torn... Grrr....

Is that more expensive?

They aren't supposed to charge but some Post Offices I think do!

I had mine done at the Mineola and Hicksville POs and neither of them charged me.

my FH is a mailman so we actiually went into his post office and hand stamped them OURSELVES......

we sat there and did all of them - the invites were all put through a machine and dirtied and torn apart anyway


he went back and asked and they told him that all things that are handstamped have to be put through the machine anyway - the only ones taht dont are the ones that are going to be delivered to someone that lives in the area that postoffice that you brought the invites to

for exampl e- fh's sister lives in massapequa - we brought to massapequa postoffice and hers was the only one that came unmachined

so unless you girls want to drive to diff post offices the invites going through the machine are inevitable.....
