Stupid question

Stupid question

My travel agent told us to be sure to bring a copy of our marriage certificate with us on the honeymoon as proof that we are entitled to the 'honeymoon' perks.

Well, I was told that after we are married the officiant mails in your marriage certificate to the state. (We are not getting married in a church). Well, if he is taking it and mailing it, what proof do I have that I'm married to bring with me????

Maybe did she mean the paper that you get from town hall, the actual marriage license. This is the one that the officiant signs and 2 witnesses sign once you say your vows. I am sure the church or reception hall can make a copy for you. I had my actual marriage license once I got back from my honeymoon.

I guess that's what she meant. That's the only thing I have, right? And everyone signs it and it gets mailed in.

Sorry...I am not usually this retarted....I'll blame bride-brain on this. Too much bridal stress on the little brain.

Re: Stupid question

We got a marriage certificate from the church, which is what I used to change my name at my bank before we left on our honeymoon

How about an extra wedding invite?

Re: Stupid question

I did not need any proof of marriage to get any honeymoon perks and we got plenty. After we filed our request for a marriage license with the town hall, they gave us a paper to give to the officiant and while we were on our honeymoon, it was signed and returned to the state. There would have been nothing or us to bring with us anyway.

She meant get a photocopy of it after you sign it. We got married at the RH. Our Rabbi had someone at the RH make a photocopy of our marriage license. He advised to travel with a copy b/c with the heightened security at airports, he wanted to make sure we didn't have any problems traveling out of and back into the US.
