How long are they supposed to be? Down to your waist? Can someone please explain 'fingertip' length to me? I'm so lost...thanks!

fingertip means it's long enough when stretched out while placed in your hair for the ends to reach your finger tips.
There's also cathedral, elbow length, etc.

Cathedral is the really long one Eblow - when placed in hair comes down to elbow Finger tip - when placed in hair comes down to finger tips.
I would try on all three and see what you are comfortable with and which looks the best w/ your dress ...also consider Do you plan to where your veil all night or take it off after the ceremony?

A veil can be as long or as short as YOU the bride want it to be. There are no rules. Try on a bunch, see what you like and go from there.
