stupid question (dress related)

If you buy your dress this early, what happens after it comes in? Where are you girls storing it?

I guess keeping it in the bag in my closet lol...But you never know how long it will take, it can take 8months to a year until your dress comes in

Well its not def a year but it can take up to a year. Well thats the good thing about a wedding dress you constantly go for fittings so they can take it in if you lose weight. I plan on being smaller than i am now for my wedding, but I will start looking soon for a dress

Well its 9 months so normally it should be enough time, all depends on what designer you get and the style of your dress...I would go to davids bridal and find out how long they typically take for a dress to come in or ask other brides who bought a dress from DB...and let them know which designer you want.

If you plan on having your dress altered where you're buying it, you can keep it at the bridal salon... otherwise, bag it and keep it as far away from FH as possible. If you're not having your dress altered there, ask them anyway how long they will hold it for you before you have to pick it up.

eh depends on what you are getting done to it, the fabric and all elements of your dress and how long it would take and a bunch of other boring stuff

FYI.... David's Bridal does NOT hold dresses for long periods of time at all.... if I can recall, 7 days max if you're not having them alter your dress.... which I highly reccommend that you do NOT get you dress altered there..

My bridal salon is holding the gown until the week of the wedding when I go to pick it up

Re: stupid question (dress related)

thats a good question...i got mine at a sample sale...I did not take it home with me but i am pretty sure that they said they would hold it untill my wedding for alterations and everything. and i dont have to do my first fitting for a while....

Re: stupid question (dress related)

most places will hold the dress for you until the week of the wedding

if not - be careful, it is very hard to care for a gown

you have to keep it in a cool dry place - and wrapped in 100% cotton. . . you also have to let it 'breathe' every once in a while. . . otherwise the fabric can yellow. . .

this of course depends on the fabric
