Stupid question - if you do the tulle between pews, do the ushers have to walk around the other side of the pews to seat guests?

I would think so
We considered toille on the seats at the ceremony, but decided not to for that reason

Yes they will...No one will be able to enter or exit from the pew from the aisle. Most florist try to convince people not to do this because it disrupts the flow of the church.

Re: Stupid question needs response..
we had tulle only on the first few rows, but none on the very first pew where the bridal party sat.
My church has a 'break' in the pews half way up, so seating worked out very well and didn't disrupt the flow. They'd walk down the aisle half way and then around to the other side of the pew. When seating the parents, they walked all the way up the aisle.
I was concerned about this as well, but it really added a nice touch to the church. I'm glad we wnt for it.
