Stupid Stupid Mistake with the Invites

We went to pick up our invites and can you believe we forgot to put the time the reception starts on the reception card!

Aw, sorry. Will they print them again for you?

Well the good news is you still have plenty of time to get them reprinted!

The thing is we are getting married Thanksgiving weekend and we know a lot of people who usually go away that weekend. So our RSVP date is October 17th. I was hoping to have them out the first week in September.

How do you think it would look if I printed something on velum paper and put it inside the card

i bet they could reprint the reception cards in time for you to send them out the first week of sept. i would try and rush over that instead of printing a separte insert. but that's just me. whatever works for ya!

i know one bride posted an issue similar to that. she was able to set her printer so that she could feed in the RSVP card and it would print the missing info in a blank spot. she was able to do it to all of them without having to place another order.

is there a spot on the rsvp card where you can add in the time? try to find a similar font on your computer. make a photocopy of your rsvp and play with spacing to see where you need to set it up before trying it out.

good luck!

agreed - i think you can get them reprinted. HOWEVER - not the end of the world if you don't. I think it ads a bit of human charecter if you put in a little slip of paper.
a cute poem perhaps about a 'busy bride' kinda like a little 'wink wink - sorry for the mistake but you know how crazy planning a wedding is... sort of thing

Thanks for all the replies and advice....

We have decided we are not going to reprint them. We are going to add something on the inside of the card

Go to Party City. They have all the name brand invitations and they printed mine in a 4 day turnaround.

Re: Stupid Stupid Mistake with the Invites

This happened to my friends (only it was their ceremony time) and they realized AFTER the invites went out.

She had a small card made up that she mailed out to people after they RSVP. I personally would do up another card or something.

Megan, I didn't read my proofs enough and misspelled a word on my invite So I know exactly how you feel. I had it reprinted. I think your idea about adding a card is just fine. If my mistake hadn't been on the ACTUAL INVITE, I wouldn't have reprinted either.

Is there a really big gap between the ceremony and the reception? Would it be catastrophic if people just went to the RH?

Thanks... I am going to try and make it look nice to make it look like it was on purpose.. It was soo frustrating.. I was so excited to get them and then that!

Yeah there is.. The church is at 2 in Astoria, Queens and the reception is at 7 in Lindenhurst (about 1 hour away)
