I just got the book and there are two things I am confused about.
#1. Am I correct in understanding that if a person in on BCPill, the whole method is pointless b/c there is no ovulation?
#2. And if you use that method, then is it really that 'healthy' to be touching yourself there 3x daily to check the cervical fluids? I think I would be paranoid of infections, etc.
Sorry if this is TMI for some.

I don't think that is true... There are plenty of people that conceive while on BC. I don't see anything worng with checking for fluids throughout the day. The best way to check is when you actual go to the bathroom throughout the day. This is JMO.

#1 :yes! ( well, you still can get pg if you are very careless about your pill or if you are taking antibiotics)
#2 : Why would you be checking cervical fluids if you are on the pill and therefor not ovulating?

I do not think #1 is correct because women can get pregnant while on the BC - regardless of whether they are careless or on antibiotics or not. And if that is the case, then you are ovulating. The pill just tricks your body, per say...but don't ask me the specifics - I'm not positive.
Not sure about #2...

#2 is not related to #1 and would only apply if you're off the pill, if pill stops ovulation.

as for #2 you can study it and take it off the toilet paper too and then never touch yourself, I never touched myself but always got my ovulation days right by what I 'saw'

#1 If you are taking the pill correctly your ARE NOT ovulating. (different story if you are on prog only mini pill). Women who get pregnant on the pill ovulated because they missed a pill or whatever but that is not what is supposed to happen
#2 Just wash your hands first. If you do Kegels before you check (squeezing and releasing) it helps bring the cervical mucus down.
