can anyone tell me the rules of subletting?? i want to make sure before we do it that its worth it or am i going to be paying all these taxes and stuff..thank you!!

Every co-op has different rules. I think that after you have lived in the place for 2 yrs. you have the legal right top sublet. I would check with the housing authority and your board.

Are you renting? If so, read your lease...your landlord is ALWAYS allowed to limit your right to sublease (no matter how long you have been there), but not your right to assign the lease. You might need to get prior written approval.
