Such a wedding snob...

Is anyone else turning into a giant wedding snob? My FH and I have a bajillion friends and probably have been to at least 60 weddings since college. I have always seen things I've liked and didn't like, but now I'm ridiculous. We went to a wedding this weekend and while we had fun, I couldn't help seeing all the problems in service at the venue. I made so many notes to tell my venue what not to do! For example, this place took orders but didn't bring out full trays of food-- they just brought out a plate or two at a time and then had to call out 'who got the chicken?' 'who got a filet medium rare?'. It was so awkward waiting for our whole table to be served. My friend went to the bathroom when her table was served and they just didn't give her any food!

Anyone else annoyed at herself for picking things apart?

I do this!!! I have been to two weddings within the past month and I have definitely made notes of what I don't like and also what I have liked.

I've done this lol. We've only been to one wedding since we booked our place, but I was judging EVERYTHING. It didn't help that it was a terrible wedding, but I definitely figured out A LOT that I'll be making sure doesn't happen on my day lol

I wish I had this problem! The last wedding I went to was maybe 2 years ago and I dont think I'll be at any weddings before mine. I wish I could learn from other peoples venue's mistakes to tell mine things

We have attended 2 weddings since we got engaged. We even attended a wedding at our venue two weeks ago. FH and I were gobbling down every. single. thing. they served to see if we liked it or not and took so many notes. We even told everyone at our table that we were getting married here next year and that we need their opinions. I'm glad we got to attend a wedding at our venue, but man we must have looked like such pigs and crazies!

I am guilty of this too! I was at a wedding a few weeks and I judged every single thing particularly the MC and DJ..Ouch ..

I'm going to a couple of weddings in the next coming months and I will probably make note of what I like and don't like. Of course, I do believe the weddings I will be going to are much more pricey than mine, so we'll see if I can do some of the things they're doing.

I did that! We went to a wedding upstate a couple of months after we got engaged, and all I kept saying was we are definitely NOT doing this at our wedding, and FH was the same way! It's funny because now that I look back on it, when I attended weddings before we got engaged, I never critiqued anything about it lol

What was crazier was that I was there with two other future brides (we're all getting married May/June next year). The venue is one that a lot of people on here are signed up at, and the service was HORRIBLE. People spilled on the dance floor and they didn't clean up, waiters were rude, they just put pitchers of water on the table and never came around and filled them. We were never offered wine with dinner, which I thought was standard. This place also didn't offer valet parking and a bathroom attendant. While that is something that I don't 'need' I thought it was standard with weddings in LI! Apparently there was a flood in the men's bathroom too (FH told me). Wow, that place sucks! They also don't have stations for the cocktail hour-- just one large buffet line. And they didn't have the same thing on two lines, just one long line, so everyone just had to wait forever to get their cocktail hour food. Then no one went back up b/c you just got one plate and sat. It was so strange!

By the way-- no one who has responded is getting married there. I just mean it's a popular venue on LI Weddings!

Oh and another thing-- I only saw one passed hor d'oerve, and my friend is allergic to shellfish. She asked what was in the stuffed mushroom to the waiter and he didn't know! He didn't say 'oh, I'll come back and let you know.' He just said 'I don't know' and walked away! So bad! How do you serve food and not know what you're serving?!?! It's so scary!

Me too... Please tell me it was not my location.... and if it is let me know what needs to be addressed bc I would be livid if these things were occurring at my wedding.
