How the hell do you keep yourself from worrying about what everyone is going to think of your wedding? I so wanted to have a 'different' type wedding and am prob going to go w/ the standard traditional wedding bc Im sort of warming up to it. And now ALL i can think of is, would people rather be at a wedding that is different and take that risk, or go w/ what is common and usual and risk people saying the same old, same old 'Another wedding!!! Theyre all the same' Its like- THEN DONT COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously though, I worry about everyone too much. I need words of wisdom

Re: Such a worrier
Stop worrying about what everyone else thinks/wants and just concern yourself with what you and your FI want. Remember, it's your day so make yourself happy!! They've all had their days and did what they wanted, any everyone else will have their days when they come and can do what they want then. I like the idea of keeping most traditions but then putting your own personal flair to a touch of different things. The ceremony (due to the seriousness of it) should be more traditional (altho you can have fun with it) and then the reception is where things can get a lil wild and anything pretty much goes there bc it's just about celebrating. What are some of the things that you want to do that you think are so different???

There is no pleasing everyone. You just need to go with what you and FH want your wedding to be and stop worrying about everyone else. YOu are the one spending the money, it should be the way you envision it. People will always have something to say, so its not worth the worrying.

If you want to do something different, then go for it. Its more fun and memorable that way. Just a few words of advice: I went to my coworker's wedding that was at a castle. It was absolutely beautiful. The bride wore a red mandarin color dress and matching chinese bridal shoes that she got on ebay. It was all very enjoyable, except that they didn't have any indoor plumbing and they we had to use OUTHOUSES!! So my advice is to do whatever you want for your wedding, as long as you fulfill the guests' basic needs of food, beverage, and BATHROOM!

You should have the wedding that will reflect you and Matt the best and not worry about everyone else. If you want a different type of wedding then go for it, and do not care about what anyone else thinks. Like I said your wedding should reflect who you are and the type of lives you lead.

Why are you so worried about everyone else??
The way I look at it, your wedding should be about you and fh starting your new life together- and that's all that really matters

I agree with what everyone else said. I really believe that guests will have a great time as long as you are enjoying yourself! There's nothing more amazing than a happy couple beginning their life together! Your energy and happiness will shine through and your guests will have a great time.

Don't sweat it, Miche. If you don't mind me saying, I kind of always knew you were going to have a traditioanl wedding...b/c I knew that is what YOU wanted! Have the wedding you want, and stop worrying about what others will think. Your taste is great, your guests will be impressed no matter what!!
