Suffolk county florists

Suffolk county florists

Does anyone have any recommendations for florists in Suffolk, particularly located between East Northport and Port Jefferson? We are looking for one that's very reasonably priced, too, as this is the one area we don't want to go overboard with the $$ ( we'll have spent it all on our reception site and photographer! ) Thanks!

I used to live in East Northport. We used Lames Cress Florist. There is a location in Smithtown, and Port. Jeff. They can be pricey, but if you tell them your budget, they will work with you. My flowers came out so gorgeous. We got so many compliments on my bouquets. I also found Mr. Cress very nice to work with.

Thanks, Diane. I've heard of them, actually. Where are they located, exactly, in Port Jeff? Near the harbor at all? Also, more importantly, can you give me an idea of what 'pricey' is and (if you don't mind) what you spent (and what you are getting). We haven't looked at any florists yet so I'm a little clueless as to cost... Thanks!!

Burton's in Huntington by the Walt Whitman mall, they are very reasonably priced!

I went to both James Cress and Burton's and chose Burton's because of the price. J. Cress has a very good reputation, but I just couldn't afford to spend $130 on my boquet. Burton's is putting any flower I want in my centerpiece for the same price. James Cress was charging my by the stem. Mr. Cress was very nice, and I'm sure that everything would be beautiful. But if you don't have the budget, you might want to look elsewhere.

I also met with Mr. Cress and found him to be very helpful. I really wanted to book with them but my hall's house florist gave me a really great deal. They have stores in Port Jefferson on route 347 and in Smithtown on Main Street (route 25/25a) - I think the Smithtown one is their main bridal location.

James Cress does beautiful flowers but are pricey. I used a woman who does flowers at her familys nursery so she gets flowers wholesale.

Sprigs and Twigs is the name and it's part of Papa's Nursery on Connetquot Ave, in Central Islip. Two of my friends used her as well. You really can't beat the prices at many other places.

I got my bouquet (large size), seven bridesmaids bouquets, about 14 corsages, and 14 boutineers, 14 plain white pew bows -- for about $750 I believe. I didn't do centerpieces through her b/c they were included with my hall.

She may seem a bit scattered but if you bring her pictures and tell her exactly what you want she does a beautiful job. I gave her a picture of my bouquet and she did it exactly. I showed her the BM dresses and a couple of pics of white I liked for them and she made them perfectly.

I'll post a picture of me and the BM so you can see our flowers. If you are interested in the phone number email me at [email protected] and I'll look for it at home.

I booked Burtons. I am getting alot for my money and am not worried about being charged more because I like a red rose over a yellow one. You get charged per item, not per stem.
James Cress is very expensive, even for a simple bouquet for flowers to give to a friend for a birthday.
Lauras in Commack is also great, very proffesional and beautiful work. She is on the pricey side, but not crazy.

Re: Suffolk county florists

Since I'm trying to plan from out of town, and set up appts for 6/15 (the next and only time we're in NY this summer) can someone post (or email me) the following:

Burton's:
Address
Phone #
Price range

Laura's in Commack:
Address
Phone #
Price range
This isn't the same as Commack Florist, is it?

Stef, I'll email you for the Sprigs phone #.

Thanks, all! -Alison [email protected]

Burton's is on Route 110 in Melville 631-424-3377. The price range is hard to say since it all depends on what you need/want. I have heard if you go in the morning on a weekend you can see the flowers that are going out that day for weddings. Nice way to see their work.

I do not have Laura's number here but I am sure she is listed. She spends a lot of time with you on your first meeting because she needs to know exactly what you want to price it. Her price was almost $1K more than Burtons.

MY advise: Make a list of what your floral needs are and bring it with you. Also, do you want a cascade or hand-tied bouquet, high or low centerpieces. That info will be needed in order to give you a price. It is really hard to get to a vendor and try to figure that stuff out right then.

I am using Towers Flowers. granted he is a friend of the family, but he is affordable and really cares about flowers...He has a woman who has a knack for weddings too...

He is on Deer Park Ave in North Babylon (really just south of dix hills)
