Suffolk County Hotel Reception Venues?

Suffolk County Hotel Reception Venues?

Does anyone have any experience with hotel-reception venues in Suffolk County? I'm particularly interested in the Sheraton-Hauppauge, Hampton Inn - Islandia, Marriott - Islandia, Crowne Plaza - Holtsville, and the Holiday Inn - MacArthur Airport.

I'd love some info on pricing, bang-for-the-buck, environment (basements vs. bright and airy), food quality, discounts - the usual. Thank you in advance!

I am getting married at the Estate at East Wind bc I wanted the hotel rooms there. We are getting married there in March. FM me for pricing if that interests you, it's about 25 minutes east from Holtsville.

I had a terrible experience with the Crowne Plaza, which I actually ended up canceling the block with them.

Are you looking for info on a hotel room block or a hotel for a reception?

I would like my reception to be in one of the above-mentioned hotels. So, I would love to get any input. Most of the posts on this site are for catering-hall type places, but as most of my guests will be from out of town, I'd like them to be able to have the reception here and lodging - both.

Fox Hollow is on the border of Suffolk county and they have a really nice hotel within walking distance from the venue.

The Hampton Inn-Islandai doesn't have wedding reception capacity, just a tiny meeting room. My parents have been to a wedding at Holiday Inn-MacArtur and were not impressed at all and I have also been to bridal shows there which take place in their reception rooms. No windows in the main floor room and the others are in the basement and you know you're in a basement. At the bridal show we tasted some chicken francese and penne alla vodka and it was not good at all. Just my personal experiences. I've heard really great things about weddings at The Hyatt in Hauppauge and it's right down the road from Islandia.

I just stayed there this weekend. VERY nice hotel. I saw them setting up for a wedding and the space looked incredible. Def worth looking into.

My sister sweet 16 was at the Marriott - Islandia about 6 years ago. It is not a basement but I don't remember having any windows. They have three doors for three rooms or they can open them into one huge room. I am pretty sure my parents were happy with the food but again it was 6 years ago so it could of changed.

Thank you for taking the time to respond everyone! Some of your comments came as no surprise. I don't want to do the Hyatt Regency bec someone I know is having theirs there too - So, I don't want to 'copy'. Thanks again for all your input!

hotel indigo is expensive 120++ and the reception is in the basement not a huge space and they have these cool light up walls but the 3rd wall is a curtain instead of a wall to hide storage FH were not impressed when we went to look at this venue.
