Hey everyone I'm getting married in Florida (where I'm from), but live on the north shore of Suffolk now. We're going to do our pre-cana up here, but I'm just not sure where to go. My parish up here only has pre-cana that is on every sunday night for 6 weeks. Unfortunately, I'm a retail manager and cannot get off work every single sunday for 6 weeks in a row.
Does anyone know of a parish that offers a weekend pre-cana or how to find out more about engaged encounter? I could definitely get a full weekend off for this, so I'm thinking this might be my best option.
Thank you girls so much!

Re: Suffolk Pre-Cana
my church does it 3 or 4 times a year, its a saturday all day and sunday morning. I'm not sure if they only allow people getting married there only, but you could ask, they are in bay shore.

Im_My_Own_Princess were at the pre-cana on 09/11 & 09/12, or did you do an earlier one? Just curious to see if someone was the same pre-cana as FH and I

Re: Suffolk Pre-Cana
yes I'm at st pats.
FH and I did pre cana a LONG time ago. we were the 'last' wedding... everyone else was may-july.. we were october.
but I asked 'are there any other liwedding brides in here?' two of them said they signed up but never came on.
and I happened to sit with a girl I went to high school with.. well for 2 years. I hadn't seen her in like 9 or 10 years and it was just so nice to see her.

Re: Suffolk Pre-Cana
I think St. Anthony of Padua might do it (East Northport). We did the 6 week course, but I think they have the weekend gig too.

Re: Suffolk Pre-Cana
DH and I were unable to do our parish pre-cana bc of his work schedule. We did our pre-cana through the Diocese of Rockville Centre instead. We went all day Saturday and all day Sunday in one weekend. There are a few different locations throughout the island, and a few different scheduling options.
Call St. John the Baptist Diocesean High School. My friend did a weekend pre-cana. 2 days and your done.

Re: Suffolk Pre-Cana
I think the Diocese of Rockville Centre offers many full weekend options (9-4 Saturday, 9-4 Sunday). I am getting married at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Centerport, and I think we will be doing a weekend Pre-Cana in Patchogue. FH is in grad school upstate and I am currently living in DC (for another 8 months or so). There are many options, but work with the parish where you are getting married and also DRVC.
