A friend of my mom's recommended a store called Sugarplum in Lynbrook. My mom wants to go there this weekend with me and my MOH.
Has anyone been there? Do they have a good selection of BM dresses?
I looked at their web site, and they didn't really say they even had BM dresses...
Also, do I need to make an appointment?

ETA - I did a search on here, but it turned up threads about MOB gowns... Do they have BM dresses at all?

Sugarplum is more prom/sweet16/mob type dresses - they have a few that may pass for bm dresses but they're kinda pricy

sugarplum doesn't carry BM dresses
they cut the tags out of dresses and insist they are 'exclusive' to them. whatever. so not true
i have had nothing but horrible experiences there--for prom, and to look for MOB dresses. i had a full out argument with the woman because she was so nasty and i called her a liar about the dresses.
needless to say, i found the same dress i was looking at there somewhere else for about half the price in another store. i could never recommend them

Thanks ladies. I read very similar reviews - can't imagine what my mom's friend is thinking. I didn't think they really carried BM dresses, anyway... but now I don't think I'll be looking there.

Hey Kara!! I got my prom dress there!! lol They were sooooo rude to me though, so I wouldn't recommend them, and they were pretty pricey. Even though my prom was almost 9 years ago, from reading these posts, I don't think they've changed much!

yeah my prom dress was $350!! it was expensive but I fell in love with it. The first time I went there it was with a friend- I had money with me to buy it that day (I was paying for it myself) and they actually told me I couldn't try it on without an adult being with me (meanwhile I had ID with me showing that I was ALREADY 18!!). I guess their policy there is if you're buying a prom dress, they treat you like a child. I could have bought it that same day, but instead I had to go back like a week later with an 'adult' to buy it. I was so mad......9 years later and I'm still venting!!

Well, since they were rude to my 'wedding planner' I cannot go there on principal!!
Any recommendations on where to go in Nassau for BM dresses???

Here's where I've looked in Nassau (but I intend to have them ordered through Bridal Elegance)- they all had a pretty large selection for BM dresses:
Wedding Plaza- Jericho Turnpike- near Floral Terrace
we went ther to look for MOB dresses to get ideas and just because we werent exactly sure right at that moment about the color my mom wanted they then decided to get nasty and say. well most people should really have their mind made up when they walk in here is what i over heard one sales girl say to the other. so we left

I intend to order from bridal elegance as well... but want to look elsewhere.
I'm glad I asked about this place, though. What a disappointment that would have been.

exactly. they treated me mean. I went in and they wouldn't even let me try on dresses without my mother. Meanwhile i was paying with my own money. I guess I look very young for my age.

ive never had a good experience there, and i am always hard pressed to find anything to my taste...
ive never seen bridesmaidy dresses there either...
there are much nicer places to go to pretty locally if you ask me!
