Re: Suggestions
I got my friend a years subscription to brides magazine when she got engaged and a wedding planning.
One of the best and most unique gifts I got was 2 beautiful Lenox wine glasses and a 3 month package from wine of the month club.
They were both cool bc like the gifts didn't end for a while.

Re: Suggestions
i think the planner is a great idea, as well as the magazines..
you could also do like a really pretty journal engraved with her name for her to take notes in for the wedding..maybe something like this from things remembered
i also think the channa plaques are a great idea for an engaged couple, just without the date on it..
or i just found these adorable ring holders that can be personalized from palomas nest on etsy

I did the magazine subscription. It really is a great gift because being newly engaged you spend so much money buying magazines and that can get expensive. At least this way she has somehting to look forward to each month.

One of my BM's bought me a wedding scrapbook from hallmark. I can't wait to put it together after the wedding
Oh reading A&A's post reminded me - another of my BM's bought me an accordion folder and notepad too:
And FMIL bought me this:

A friend of mine got me a accordion folder type thing and labeled different sections such as wedding dress, reception, honeymoon etc etc. She did it bc she wishes someone had done it for her when she got engaged. I use it all the time for my ideas and receipts and contracts, its a great placed to keep everything stored in one safe, organized space. Here is a pic of something like I have.
We got our friend champagne glasses with a bottle of champagne . mag is really cute idea tho

I got a great engagement gift - a membership to www.myweddingbinder.com. I use it every day and it is really helpful! I definitely agree that a wedding workbook is the way to go!

Re: Suggestions
In addition 2 traditional wedding planners books my friends gave me , one gave me Emily Post's Wedding Etiquette and that has been great!
Also, that same friend gave FH a Groom Coupon Book--obviously it has done nothing but sit on a bookshelf but it was a really cute idea!
