Suggestions for a nice, inexpensive mini-vacation?

I want DH and I to go away for a long weekend somewhere before the baby arrives. I'm thinking maybe in the Spring and some place more or less close... I don't think he's going to want to fly.

I'm open to anything since there are many states I haven't been to!

I was just looking up Portsmouth, NH this morning. It looked beautiful online and I found some great B&Bs. I am thinking of planning a trip there for my hubby's birthday. I am throwing him a surprise bday, but want to plan a long wknd away, which we both need and will throw him off.
