Suggestions for cheap centerpeices??

Original post by april122003

Hi, I want the tall flowers as centerpeices, but I have a huge wedding 75 tables in total. right. HUGE wedding. any suggestions on what I can do? i don't want to do candles, I always pictured my wedding with tall flowers. I got in touch with a lady who can do fake flowers for $20, i dont' want fake flowers! Anyways this lady doesn't call me anymore. So does anyone know of someone, who can do it so cheap, even if you thought they were bad? pleaseeee anything will help, wedding is coming up soon, very soon.

odd too that she misspelled Hicksville...I am a terrible speller, but at least I can spell my hometown.

I just read this entire thread and I had to say that
Shelzp should lay off the negative prejudice comments. They are disgusting! Shelzp, maybe you should take some time off the wedding planning and look at your Geography books and take some Anthrapology lessons, not to mention in email etiquette. This board was not designed to to bash on each other and you know it. There are florists out there that can work with april122003 and I am sure wthin her budget. April, I will send you an FM of my suggestions since I believe that two months is ample time to work with a Florist for beautiful and reasonable centerpieces. Most of them will be very thankful for your business since you are having more people than most of us on this board.

I'm not a fake bride, just one who tells her stories with much exageration,(but I am having 500 people at my wedding) and I wasn't offended by shelzy's posting but thank you Karen, you seem like a very nice person--and shelzyp you just seem very hyper and yea very enthusaistic. But since i have not used this board before I do not know what a FM is, and how to check it if I get one.

and for the person who posted hicksville as her home town, its definately not mine, and my guests...who are mostly from the UK...think its a joke that i'm getting married in a town called Hicksville.

Wow,

And it all started with a question about centerpieces. Since you are having a muslim wedding; have you thought of non-floral ideas that you could purchase inexpensively from out of country? I am having a traditional asian wedding as well (thai) and most of my wedding paraphenalia (favors, centerpieces, dry desserts) will be direct from thailand which is less costly. We are considering soap carvings (similar to ice sculptures but carved out of slabs of soap) as our centerpieces which is a common art for our culture.
I'll try to post a pic if I can find one.

Natalie
