Suggestions for places out east? north fork preferably?
Does anyone have suggestions for places for a wedding reception out east whether it's a private club, historic home, beach, vineyard-looking for someplace different than vineyard caters, rafael, east wind, atlantica, gurneys.

Did you check out Old Field Club? Very pretty, depends on size of your wedding, but beautiful. Also, Port Jefferson CC was just renovated adn reopened (catering is through Villa Lombardis) Good luck!

Lessings now has Tall Grass Country Club, Shore-wading River I believe--very pretty country club.

If you don't mind going a bit further out east Giorgio's is beautiful and the people there are great to deal with.

I thought Vineyard Caterers was really nice. It's just east of Riverhead.

Not to be snobby, but not so sure I want 'vineyard caterers' on my invitations, plus that place is right on the road.

The only place that I know of that is east of Riverhead and on the north fork is Raphael Vinyard.
If you find any other places please let me know... I am looking in the same area.

I am using Raphael. We looked at all the vineyards and do not want a catering hall. We are very happy with our choice -- so far!! I'll let you know after Aug. 29 if you want.

check out this website if you haven't already. it gives a pretty detailed list of the places you can get married at (i believe all of them are east of riverhead and on the north fork). it was a great resource when we were looking. as far as the wineries i believe it was galluchio that was renovating a certain site on the grounds this past spring for weddings. one note, i was unaware that at some of the wineries you are unable to have music past 10:30pm due to noise ordinances.

Same here -we're also using Raphael's. It was just very unique and elegant. But if that's not what you're looking for, there are several vineyards that will hold weddings - with a few of them though, you have to hold it under a tent on the property (as far as I know). Just a note on what mattituckprincess said: Although I know that Raphael is unaffected by this - that is true for some of the vineyards so you may want to check that out when looking.

This place is beautiful---in SagaPonack/Sag Harbor
Check this place out... it lists all of the vineyards with a short description of whether or not they do weddings.

There is a private vinyard on the north fork owned by a family and it is right on the water. They do weddings. But I don't think they take more then 175 people. They like to keep it smaller. I can't remember the name of it, but they are different and unique and different from your typical catering hall. They are not a wedding factory. I forget the name but if I remember, I will let you know. I am sure if you calk the chamber of commerace or something like that, they would know the name. Or even ask a wineary, they would know.

Calverton Links now has a big clubhouse, and does Weddings....I have no contacts for them, but look them up and give them a call if you are interested!
