Soooooo...unbelivably, FH's new job gives him off every other Friday!! And since I work for my mom and she loves me oh so much, she gave me off the Fridays he has off!!
This Friday is our first Friday off together. My mom is an even bigger saint and is taking FSD for a sleep over Friday night. She is picking her up straight from camp so after we drop her at camp at 9am we will have until Saturday at 1pm all to ourselves...
...I WANT TO DO SOMETHING!!!! Pleaaaaaase give me suggestions!! We're open to any and all ideas...eta: I'm thinking a day trip would be better so we can actually sleep in on Saturday.
Once I came up with this idea I knew you ladies were the best resource I had! TIA!!

I'm out in mattituck right now, and we went to the wineries today-it was a ton of fun and really not that expensive..the first place we went to was 7 for 4 lil glasses and the 2nd was 4 for 3 lil glasses..

very nice sounds! I would def recommend going out east! the wineries and farms are so relaxing and so different. or do hamptons or montauk

Once a year FH and I take a day trip to Montauk. We go to the beach, then go out to eat. It's very relaxing and peaceful. It's a long drive from Queens but if you are in LI it won't be so bad. We don't even stay over... we leave at around 8 AM from Queens and come back the same night.
Or you can also go to Fire Island for the day or at night. I've only been there once and that was during the day but I hear the bars out there are fun at night. Just make sure you catch the right ferry coming back.. The latest one might be around 1 AM.. But I'm not sure.

thats what i was going to suggest, but if yu go leave early so you dont get stuck in hamptons traffic

you could also just spend the day at the beach, pack a cooler or fruits and beers, come home do a quickie lol get ready and go out to a new place for dinner

Totally take a trip out to the wineries. It's a relaxing day, kinda romantic, and super inexpensive. Tasting flights are cheap and then you can find a cutsie place to have lunch.

Have to agree on the wineries as well. Martha Clara is really great!! Another suggestion...if you like gambling. You can take the Sea Jet from Orient Point out to Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods for the day. Price of the Sea Jet includes the shuttle to and from the casinos as well as some gambling money I believe.

Check out the events for this weekend at the wineries on the Northfork...they usually have something going on...live music, clam bakes, etc. Just being there is great, but why not make the most of it. I love Osprey's Dominion...pack a picni and enjoy the patio outside. You really can go wrong there.
If you venture out of LI...how about the Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo, NY... then hit Applewood or Warwick vineyard not to far from there.... Like a combo trip or stay in one of the towns in Hudson Valley.

omg...I was LOVING the Ren Faire idea (I've never been) but they're only open Saturdays and Sundays!!
Anyone else have any ideas?? I think we are leaning towards a day trip because Saturday is our only day to sleep in and we don't want to have to wake up early to drive back here by 1pm.

Visit Greenport, you have the vineyards as well but the village is adorable. They have some great restaurants.
Another great day trip is New Hope, PA, its only about 90 mins or less, great town, great food, its just adorable.
