Happy Monday . My fiance and I are in the mist of a debate. All of our bridal party is going to be getting ready in the Centereach/Selden area. I thought we should get some sort of transportation to take us to the place in Aquebogue (think Riverhead area). We only need transportation to the place because our ceremony/reception is there. He feels that it is ridiculous because it is not worth it too spend over $1,000 for a limo just to drop us off (one way). Any opinions or suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance

hmm...well if you are on a tight budget..it IS a lot to spend.
does he think that all the BP should just drive themselves to the ceremony/reception? what is his suggestion?
if the limo brings your BP to the ceremony/reception.... how would they get back home? that's a little far for them to find their way back. maybe it would be best if they drive themselves out there .

Re: suggestions/advice
we used Lindy's taxi service to take our OOT guests from the reception to the hotel at the end of the night.... just an idea..... we went with them cause they were the cheapest... couldn't afford a limo company! Good luck.

WE HAVE 24 PEOPLE IN OUR BRIDAL PARTY. MOST OF THEM ARE BRINGING DATES AND OTHERS WILL BE LEAVING THERE CARS ATH THE HOTEL. I JUST FEEL IT IS POOR TASTE NOT TO HAVE TRANSPORTATION.

I got a limo to do this b/c I didn't want any one to be late, get lost, etc. but my friends are very prone to that sort of thing. I would evaluate your friends and see if it is really needed.
Also, that sounds like a lot of $$ just for a pick-up and drop off...have you shopped about around any?

I would say it's worth the money. First of all, getting there in the summer is going to be pretty bad. The traffic at the end of the LIE is going to be dead stopped. It would give me great peace of mind to know everyone will get there at the same time. Noone gets lost. And it sort of sets the atmosphere from the beginning. I would start pricing limo's - it might not be as bad as you think.

we are doing the same thing, having our ceremony there and we are having limos i feel its just easier to have everyone together and not worry if someones going to get there on time for pics. its kinda close to our homes to but we ares till getting limos. its worth the extra $$. HTH

That sounds like a lot for one way. Shop around...and like the other poster said, you could always just get like a Classic bus or something.

I know the money is crazy but it would be more convienant. I shopped around and places were really expensive. Many places won't do pick-up and just drop off. If they do, they jack the prices up in order to make out on the deal. Anyone know of a school bus I can use, LOL!
