Suggestions....please

I am so sorry to ask a question that I am sure has been asked a million times but....

Where can I go on Long Island to take pictures - for free? I want to take pictures of my FH and I to put together an album of our engagement. I won't be using the pics to send out with engagement announcements (that's why I'm not going to a photographer) - it's just for us to have to remember this time. Does anyone have any suggestions on pretty places we can go to take pics (and I can drag my tripod with me) for free?

The Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Oakdale!

We had our wedding pictures taken there. I know you said free...but this is only $5 a car load and they do not charge you to take poictures!!

Thanks so much these are great suggestions! The fee to get in is fine so long as someone doesn't come running after us when they see us taking pictures.

Any more suggestions for places to take pictures?
