Hi girls, I have not been on the boards in forever, but you have all always been so helpful in the past. So I have a question for you ladies. My SIL is getting married in Oct. in Cancun. She is having a hard time figuring out what the groomsmen should wear. It will be too hot for tuxes. They are getting married on the beach at sunset. I am open to any and all ideas. Thanks ladies!

I had a co-worker who got married on a tropical beach and he made it a 'white wedding' for the men, meaning all guests were told they had to wear light colors. A little unorthodox, but apparently the pics came out excellent. (I wasn't there.) The GM all wore linen suits.

Re: suits
Go with the Hawaiian wedding attire, the men wear loose fitted button-down white cotton/linen shirts with khakis/khaki color trousers and either go with sandals or flip flops. Or a white classic polo shirt with tan colored trousers. This will keep the guys cool in the hot, humid weather. I went there for my HM and tuxes are def not recommendable.

Re: suits
We have a timeshare in Cancun and have seen multiple weddings on the beach of our resort. The best 'suits' are anything (shirts, pants or shorts) linen and light colored.

Re: suits
I agree I think the best thing is something like khaki pants and a linen shirt. Tommy Bahama has some great stuff perfect for a wedding on the beach
Here is a link to pictures and a thread dedicted to this question: link
