Suits or tuxes for the dads?

My FH and I aren't having a traditional bridal party. It's basically just us and the immediate family.

My FH is going to rent a tux but I'm not sure what to do about our fathers. Would it look ok if they just wear nice suits? I just think it would make more sense since we're not having a bridal party. And if we do go with suits, should the tie or shirt match the color scheme at all?

I think it would be fine to have the dad's wear nice suits.

And as far as the ties, I think it would be fun to incorporate the color scheme. It helps point them out better to the guests.

I am having a very small wedding party, MOH, BM, one other BM and Jr BM (very lopsidded I know) BUT...I would have loved for the fathers just to wear a nice suit..but my FIL owns a tuxedo from when FH brother got married two years ago..so now I have to have my Dad rent a tux.

I think my Dad would have looked great in a nice suit..he dresses great normally and has great taste..but unfortunately this isnt an option anymore .

I say yes to a suit instead of a tux!!
