I started updating resume and putting myself out there for summer work. It's not looking good for summer programs here with budget and FH doesnt really want me working at my school in summer
I decided I am totally fine with NO job-just babysitting whenever- and start all those DIY tasks instead! This year was super crazy and next year will be worse for me at work, so I think summer vacay is best to get it all done!!
Is it wrong to not tell FH that I don't want to apply!

As a teacher myself, I enjoy having the summers off. I was debating whether or not to work this summer because of the upcoming wedding but if I do I want it to be part-time work. I would prefer something out of the education world. One year I taught summer school and I felt like I never had a break when I started in September. Having off the summer makes me miss work and to some degree, i always look forward to starting the new school year! For some reason I really want to work at like Home Depot or something where there is nothing involved, just come in, work and leave. TBD what happens...

No! Common myth. Technically we get either 20 or 22 paychecks (at least on the island). You have to budget for the summer. I would LOVE it if they could just pay us every other week and then I wouldn't have to worry about budgeting. July is always a great month and then August is a penny pinching time. Not to whine but I go from June 30 to Sept 15 without a check some years are better than others! Luckily Sept 21 is my birthday so once I get paid I am good!

We do get paid Lil, but working after school gives me a supplement so I always work summers to balance that out. I just want to take this summer to myself to get ahead with wedding plans but I think FH will be pi$$ed if I don't work... I'll just tell him 'I sent ou all these resumes and applications and haven't heard back!'

haha if we didn't get that time to reboot, I'd wind up being one of those teachers who locks kids in closets or duct tapes mouths down the road!
